What is Drum n Bass?
I'm not really into drum n' bass (jungle), but from what I understand it
began as a
combination of reggae and techno. The drum machine is put at the forefront
of the
compositon. It incorporates a sped-up hip hop breakbeat and a half-time
bassline.

In 1991 Hardcore Rave went into the mainstream charts due to the Prodigy's
first
chart hit Charly, this started off a number of chart smashes such as trip
to trumpton
etc. A lot of the DJs and producers didn't agree with hardcore being a
commercial
success say that the tunes were being watered down and just produced to
make
money,(fair play) so they started making tracks which were darker and this
style
was called jungle techno. Djs such as Ratty and Tango, Fabio and Grooverider
to
name a few. As time went on this dark hardcore started to break away from
hardcore and by 1993 it was its own style all together. The name jungle
( now
correct me if I wrong ) was coined at the Astoria when a M.C (i forget
the name)
Said 'its like a jungle , its called Jungle' something along those lines,
and the rest
is History.

Until a few months ago i used to 100 % gabba fa or banging techno fan but
recently a have been hearing the power of drum and bass (those cool as
fuck fat
as fuck bass lines)
