         Review
Cirrus follows up their great debut CD with a sophmore CD that is just as good as their first one.
Focusing a lot more on addicng vocals to their tracks and with a noticeable hip-hop influence Back
on a Mission is a seperate beast than Drop the Break.

the title track is a short but good song that seems more rock song than techno song. Featuring
guitars and slower drum work than usually present in Cirrus songs and featuring rap styled original
vocals Back on a Mission is a new style of techno music that remains true to it's roots with a fair
ammount of scratching but has a broader appeal due to the slower music and vocals.

The Answer mixes soul searing vocals over a dance beat that's similar to the style perfected by
BT. Stop and Panic is pure breakbeat dance with a hint of acid styling perfect for the big parties.
Abba Zabba and Soul Blast is a male trip-hop song. Clear and easy to spot hip-hop influence with
slow tripped out music makes an interesting song. Captain Cocktail is a great breakbeat styled
song that begs to be played in a club. Break the Madness is a serious venture into the heart of
breakbeat madness. Mixing drums, guitars and snyths all with MC vocals you get a stadium
breakbeat song packed onto a CD. The closing track, Time's Running Out, mixes a great beat with
interesting choices of instruments, opens with what seems to be violins, and vocals from something
similar to a Jessie Jackson speech. If you stick around after the last song you get treated to a
bonus track with a hint of hillbilly music.

This CD is extremely different than their first CD and yet is just as good. Focusing more on
broadening the appeal of electronic music by adding vocals and more "mainstream" music Cirrus
creates a great mass appeal CD with a few nice "old school" suprises.
