System 7
For those of you joining us from the U.S then the System 7 that I'm talking about is called '777', due to a rock band of the same name. But over here in the U.K they are known as 'System 7', they being Steve Hillage and Miquette Giraudy. Early albums include '777', 'System 7', 'Point 3' and probably others that I've forgotten - click here for full discography.

Album: 777[CAROL1727-1]
Released 1991 on Ten Records / Caroline Records (USA).

Album: Power of 7 | ||
This album is more complete than the previous albums, which all tended to fall on the ambient side of things. Interstate is the opening track, quite funky - I like this track! This was also the first single from the album. The Osmosis Suite (God knows why its called this!) contains some of the best material on this album and the latest
single Hanger 84 (Hanger 84 is the hanger where the crash remains of the 1947 Roswell
incident were kept - that's if u believe in all that stuff!!!).

Single: Hanger 87 | ||
The Carl Cox remix is quite a dark affair, whereas the remix from System 7 (The Gods Must Be Crazy) is nothing special. The live version is the best version of this track, which saves this single from the bin.

Album: System Express[BFLCD21X]
Released '96 on Butterfly Recordings.
| ||
Single: Rite of Spring | ||
Released 6/97. The Origin Mix of this track is absolutely wicked and has become a favourite at Whirl-Y-Gig. Very bouncy and uplifting - a must for the collection. Also features on the Golden Section album.

Album: Golden Section[BFLCD27]
Released '97. The highlight of this album is the Origin Mix of Rite of Spring. The rest of the album is predominantly drum and bass.
| ||
Album: Seventh Wave[AAWCD007]
Released 9/01 on A-Wave Records. System 7 have released their latest album following a series of live performances, including that on the Whirl-Y-Gig stage at the 2001 Reading WOMAD Festival. As in their live show, this CD is predominantly thundering, relentless trance, with lengthly rolling tracks.

12": High Planes Drifter[AAWT702]
Released 9/01 on A-Wave Records. Written and produced by Steve Hillage and Miquette Giraudy. Additional remix and production on track 2 by Purple and on track 3 by Voyager.
