The WinClassic Project

The WinClassic Project is closed. It is never going to be updated or
improved. Here you can download the last packs for "W98" and "NT4" look
and do whatever you want to them (I am not responsible for anything in
this case). The automatic installer was never finished and you still
have to install everything by hand (you can make one though if you want).

Basically, the WinClassic Project consists of four files:

* classic-pack-1.5-w98.7z: WinXP Classic Pack 1.5 W98 Flavor: makes
your XP look exactly like Windows 98 

* classic-pack-1.4-nt4.7z: WinXP
Classic Pack 1.4 NT4 Flavor: makes your XP look exactly like Windows
NT 4.0 

* yztb.7z: Y'Z Toolbar W2K English: the cut-down version of Y'Z Toolbar
which provides W98/W2K Explorer icons (for WinXP)

* plus98xp.exe: Windows 98 Themes for Windows XP: the collection of
Windows 98 desktop themes for Windows XP (screensavers don't work).

You can still browse the files in this directory if you are interested,
but everything here revolves around these four files.

A lot of folks wanted to make their Windows 98 or Windows 2000 look like
the bright, new XP. The proof to it is a bunch of programs that do it --
XP Icons, for example, or many others. However, not too many people know
that there are some who want it vice versa -- who are tired of their XP's
flashy and colorful interface and want to give it back the good old look,
which they used to see for years on their machine. And they don't just
need the "Classic Theme" for Windows XP -- they want all the colors,
menus, fonts, and icons back! As I haven't found any software or files
online that would do that, I had to spend some hours on that... and
not in vain, I hope. This project is for those who want to make their
XP system look like the classic Windows system (98/2K) so that hardly
anyone could say it's XP! for Windows 2000, there are some tweaks too
that quickly turn its interface into Windows NT or Windows 98.
