Information and Analytical Center of Nizhny Novgorod Society for Human Rights
The activities of Nizhny Novgorod Society for Human Rights include lawmaking and analytical work on human rights. The Society members participate as experts in preparing and evaluating regional as well as federal bills. In 1996 within the framework of information and analytical center project, database on human rights norms was created for human rights organisations of Russia.
Main objectives of Information and Analytical Center:
- monitoring of normative documents of Nizhny Novgorod region authorities and some federal governments;
- analyzing documents of legislative and executive establishments, legal acts with the purpose of indicating the conformity to Russian and international norms of human rights;
- making examination of normative projects;
- arranging the library of normative acts containing norms on human and civil rights;
- keeping the database of normative documents on human rights updated, making changes and additions;
- contributing to applying international and Russian norms in legal practices;
- arranging legal seminars with judges, attorneys and public prosecutors participation;
- preparing information for highlighting in mass media.
